There are many wonderful and festive traditions associated with the holiday season known as Christmas. Some of those traditions include decorating the outside area or home with Christmas lights, hanging Christmas cards on the entranceway of the inside doors of the home, the exchanging of Christmas gifts, etc.

Here is a guide to Christmas tree decorating, to help get you started if you have never decorated a tree before and give you some great tips and ideas if you have. Of course to get started you are going to need to go out and get all of the decorations. The best idea is going to be for you to make a list of what you need before going out looking for them, mainly just to save yourself time and hassle.

The angel Christmas tree ornament is especially popular, because it is so beautiful and reminiscent of this wonderful time of year. All you need is a clothespin, a couple of bows, and some glitter and a permanent marker. To create the ornament you simply glue on a bow to the clothespin as a bow in the angel's hair, dot a couple of eyes on with the permanent marker, add some glitter for her dress, and you are finished. Of course you can make a more extravagant angel ornament but this is just a very basic pattern to get you started.

The Christmas tree ornament is of course one of the favorites as well. Also very simple, all you really need for this pattern is assorted 2mm craft foam, a pencil or pen, scissors or craft knife, foam glue, assorted hole punches, a black permanent marker and assorted ribbon and braid trims.

The garland is also important to Christmas tree decorating. There are really no firm rules when it comes to draping garlands on a tree, but you should start at the top, stringing less garland and work your way down, increasing the amount of garland as you do so. There are even some fantastic bead garlands that you can find, which add a bit of pizzazz to the basic Christmas tree. You should use a variety of garlands, everything from plain to fancy, if you want the most well balanced and fun look. Generally, for every vertical foot of tree you should use about two strands of garland.

Once you have your Christmas tree ornament completed you can hang it on your outdoor Christmas tree and show it off to your family and friends. Or you may want to make some to give out as gifts during the holiday season because this is what Christmas is really all about. Regardless of which specific type of ornaments you decide to make, creativity is the most important thing here, so make sure that you put your own flair into it.
