Weight control has always been difficult for some of us. There have always been people who want to help you lose weight quickly. The problem with these programs is they do not last.
The good news is that we do not have to change everything about our diets to get on the right track. All we need to do is make some substitutions, we can swap healthy choices for those fattening things we are in the habit of eating.
Examples from all the meal groups will be give, and I will start logically with the first meal of the day. If you eat bran flake cereal with raisins, instead of corn flakes you will be getting 1/4 your recommended daily intake of fiber. Regular oatmeal will make you feel fuller than instant oatmeal because it does not digest as fast.
When chosing a sandwich for lunch put tuna at the top of the list. Remember to use mayonnaise with canola oil when preparing the sandwich. You might also try putting an avocado slice in your sandwich. Avocados are full of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals, as well plant sterols which lower cholesterol.
Another effective method is to increase your metabolic rate so that it can help your body to burn off the excess calories. One of the method is to Increase your muscle mass, as muscle tissue will tend to burn approximately 70 to 100 calories as compared to the fat in our body, which only burnt off approximately 4 or 6 calories per kg. So, it's time for weight and resistance training folks.
You can also start eating more everyday now without having to worry whether you will put on weight or not. As you might have know, even for myself, having to stick to those strict diet on low fat or low in carbohydrate is never an easy task.
Stimulants are a second method for increasing your metabolic rate. A Japanese study proved this of green tea and caffeine, both stimulants. Test show that a person who drank green tea once a day would burn 70 more calories than non-green tea drinkers. These are fairly easy ways to jump start and build up your metabolism.
