Genital herpes is an easily acquired, highly infectious disease. It could infect men and women alike and is generally caused by strain of herpes simplex virus. It can remain in an inactive state so that it can cause a recurring infection.

Sometimes, when symptoms appear, the infected person just ignores the pain until it heals by itself. On the contrary, the infected person, instead of ignoring the symptoms should take immediate steps to go for treatment to contain the infection and practice safe, protected sex. It will be prudent to be always observant of the people around you. What you know about people you are dealing with, at least in the physical aspect, could save you from an incurable disease such as genital herpes.
