What caused the uncontrollable spread of HIV AIDS? Will it have a greater impact on the economy compared to other kinds of diseases? How can HIV AIDS be compared to other similar outbreaks? Will our scientists and specialists finally find the cure to end this global catastrophe?

These are the questions that need to be answered by the technocrats and the scientists. They might have the answers soon, but on the other hand, the questions might remain unanswered puzzles for many years to come. Laymen, like us can at best learn as many things about HIV AIDS as possible for better understanding of the illness and those who are infected, if we ever encounter one.

It is of utmost importance for everyone to be ready and be kept well-informed so we can avoid this fatal disease from taking our future and life prematurely.

HIV infection has four stages. After two to six weeks from contracting the virus, symptoms that resemble the ones of the flu can appear. This way, the infected person can feel nausea, fever, night sweating, fatigue, and altered general state, headaches, muscle pain, etc. There are patients who do not mind these symptoms, or the symptoms simply do not appear. For the correct diagnosis of the HIV AIDS, it is necessary that special tests be conducted.

The second phase is slow and can last up to several years. This is the time when HI viruses multiply (HIV). The persons who know they are infected have no physical symptoms, they are only psychological, the people who have no idea they have been infected do not experience any type of symptoms what so ever.

The third stage is the beginning of a new phase towards experiencing Aids Related Complex, commonly known as ARC. It is during this stage where the patient starts to experience the result of acute infections and change in his/her general condition. This time, the symptoms do not diminish but rather worsen, taking the infection to the next level.

Now we come to the final stage of HIV which is now the AIDS phase. By now, the patient's compromised immune system is still being assaulted by opportunistic infections. Under normal circumstances of a healthy immune system, these infections could be readily resisted. However, as the patient's immune system continues to deteriorate, so thus the body's capacity to fight this otherwise common germs and bacteria.

A recent theory has been advanced lately, that is, not all patients infected with HIV will develop the disease. However, the theory has not been confirmed. At stages three and four of the HIV infection, any disease that the patient contracts can no longer be treated. The development of the disease can be retarded with medication until there is still some fight left in the immune system. When the immune system finally succumbs, this will immediately cause the death of the patient.
