A deck of Tarot cards numbers seventy eight cards in total. The cards have two groupings which are the 'Major Arcana' group and the 'Minor Arcana' Group. Each group has its own unique function when the read by a Tarot Card reader, The Major Arcana cards are very distinctive and designed to stand out as they are of great importance.

Minor Arcana cards take on the lesser role of showing day to day events. While it is important to take note of what all the cards show you, it is the Major Arcana cards that deal with the bigger events in a persons life such as paths to take and choices to make.

It is hard not to take notice of Major Arcana cards as they stand out with their bright vivid coloring and design. I'm sure this is intentional so as alert both the Tarot card reader and client of the cards importance and ensure they take note.

The cards of the Major Arcana total twenty two and start from the 'Fool' card (zero) to the 'World' card (21). The fool represents beginning's while the world represents endings. The cards in between show various other aspects of a persons life such as, challenges, lessons and the like.

Take notice when one of the Major Arcana cards shows up as the cards is telling you of something important in you're life. It can relate to anything be it good or bad but the fact it has shown up means you should focus on this aspect. there may be a big decision that nees to be made or a situation to be addressed so that you can move forward.

The remaining 56 cards are the minor arcana cards. Each of these cards symbolize the trials of the individuals everyday life. These are the situations and circumstances that can be changed by the individual.

The Minor Arcana has its own group of four, consisting of Swords, wands, pentangles and cups. The swords group deals with conflicts, the wands deal with ideas or conceptions, the cups deal with relationships and the pentangles money. Is quite normal when having your Tarot read for the groups to change so that a better understanding is gained by the reader as to their meaning.

When someone is having a reading it is common for both Minor and Major Arcana cards to show up. In general because Major Arcana cards are dealing with destiny they are unable to be changed and their importance should not be underestimated. The decisions of a person can alter the minor arcana cards and are modified by the reader as information is gained.
