As the size and the quality of television grows so does the size of the space needed to accommodate our Entertainment needs. A generation ago televisions where not what they are today they were tucked away in the corner or not even in the living room at all. Today, however we devote whole rooms to our home entertainment - here are some tips designing a home theatre room in your own home.
Two important features to consider when you create your home theatre are room shape and the height of the ceilings. If you select an oblong shaped room with high ceilings, you will be able to imitate the feeling of being in a real movie theatre even though it will be smaller and cozier. You may choose to insulate this room or sound proof it if you have neighbors close by and you want to be certain not to disturb them even if you enjoy turning up the volume.
Putting a home theater in an existing room in your has does not have to be a big deal. Basements are the perfect option with little to no windows make it easy to keep out the light. If you don't have a basement or a windowless room all that is needed is heavy drapes to keep the light out.
When designing a home theatre room, keep these things in mind: it should be built with the appropriate materials and in a spot in the home that prevents it from bothering others when in use; it should be large enough to accommodate the screen and seating you desire; and finally, it should contain the proper barriers to prevent outside light and noise from hindering your total home theater experience.
Other things to consider are getting a stereo, TV, and surround sound, but these will be discussed in a later article. For now, all we'll say is that it's definitely beneficial to do your research on which electronics are appropriate for what you want. You should also take great care in properly setting them up, for optimal results.
When designing a home theatre room it does not just involve the size and electronics but also the finishing touches because that is what will make an ordinary room into a theater. Try buying some vintage movie posters and make sure you have comfortable seating (preferably theatre style). For lighting you can use sconce lighting that will match with the equipment. Try to make the room look as much like a theatre as you can and you'll have a unique entertainment room that will give you hours of enjoyment.
