Homeschooling your kid is not an easy task and here is a list of some good homeschooling tips for you and your kids to consider.

- There is no need to follow the curriculum closely. Be flexible and focus on the learning process. It is important that the homeschooling journey is enjoyable.

- Make the more formal type of lessons like spelling and math, short. And always teach them using examples.

- Most children hate writing, and therefore extra care must be given during the teaching. Guide the children in their thinking process and it will help them greatly.

- It is important that you let your children progress at their own speed, and not rush them into learning.

- There must be no other distraction such as tv or radio during the homeschooling. The children must learn to respect that there is a time for study and play.

- Expose the child to community where learning experiences are valued. You can start at the library.

- Teach your child in a structure and methodical manner. Begin with the easy thing first and move on slowly to the more difficult one.

- There must be a good balance between play and study. Understand what you kid loves and you can structure the playing time around what he likes.

- Different educational material appeals to different type of learners. Workbooks, flashcards, matching games, instruction charts and books appeal to the more visual learners. Songs and rhymes and instruments please auditory learners and model kits, puzzles, typing and gardening etc are preferred mode of learning for the kinesthetic learners - understand your child preference.
