People have been arguing for years on who is the best rapper. You've probably seen the top 5 or top 10 rapper list all over the place. What people first need to understand is what is a rapper? A rapper doesn't have to be the best lyricist, or the one with the best rhymes or flow, but overall the impact they have on the industry and music listeners everywhere.

I think it's how much influence you've had on the greatest number of people. Simple as that. So how do you know how much someone has influenced someone? You must look at various different factors to come up with an answer. The production, the lyrics and the style of rap also known as the 'flow'. Most importantly, it's the human connection which is the struggle they went through to accomplish their goals. Which is bringing their product or music to you and I. When you start thinking about all those things, than you begin to realize that their are only a handful of rappers out there who fit the bill.

Out of all the rappers and hip hop artists, only 2pac, Master P, Sean Combs, Curtis Jackson and Slim Shady has had the most global impact. 2pac is still selling records and it has been almost 11 years since he got shot. Master P is the one put the dirty south on the map before the Cash Money Records deal and before Lil John's Crunk. Plus Mr. Miller ended up on the richest men in american list at just 28 when he started No limit records. His album 'Ghetto Dope' is nothing short of a classic with funky basslines and raw style of rapping that was simply too original.

Finally when Marshall came up it was like a re-brith in rap music. Here you had a white rapper who actually had some phenomenal skills. The color barrier was broken again and this time it was the opposite. You would think that after all the suffering black people went through, they would let the white kid do his thing but I guess anger is something that can slow down creativity, but not completely halt it.

Finally we have P Diddy who almost single handedly brought the rap game to the mainstream and pop charts. Some might argue that P Diddy made hip hop pop - but I think he made hip hop popular around the world. By using a very new formula of remixing 'white' songs into hip hop dance anthems, P Diddy show cased a new side of hip hop. It is because of P Diddy that the world outside of the US fell in love with hip hop. Not to mention, it was P Diddy who introduced Notorious B.I.G to us.
