One defining characteristic about creative thinkers is that they explore all possible options.

A world where everyone around you looks like one another. They are all the same. Stop what your doing and really imagine your world like this.

Imagine, everything about each person is exactly like one another. It is not just the way we look, but the way we act, think, feel. From our attitudes, emtions, world views to our clothes, hairstyle and eye colour - we are all exactly the same.

In a world like this, there would be no choices. Everyone would do the same thing, think the same. If this is what the world was really like, imagine how boring a tragic it would be.

We wouldn't be stimulated in any way whatsoever to think differently or try something new, and we would never have the drive or ambition to get ahead because everyone would always be at the exact same level.

Now I want you to imagine a different example. This example is actually going to be very similar to what we just talked about. What if everybody you dated looked exactly alike? Think about that. If you're a male, every female looks the same. If you're a female, ever male looks the same.

Try and think back about some of the differences between your past girlfriends or boyfriends. Those differences would be gone. Imagine how boring it now would be to choose your next date, or even your spouse.

Now there would be no right or wrong person, because how would you ever know if they were all exactly the same? The energized feeling of finding that special person would be gone. With every potential spouse being exactly the same as another, we would be left with no options.

What does this have to do with anything?

Because the world we live in is actually full of differences everywhere you look. Each day you are faced with making hundreds of real choices, each having a possible completely different outcome.

This is the joy of being human and living in a free society. As creative thinkers, we value this very highly because we get to explore those options.

Having the ability to explore different options allows creative thinkers to generate many new things - a new ebook idea, a new service idea, a new joint venture idea, a new email series idea- the list of possible opportunities is endless because we have the option to explore them.

New ideas are ignited from exploring the new, going for different opportunities and possibilities, instead of sticking with the norm. That's what creative thinkers do, go for what will bring new ideas.
