There is some talk online that you can't make any money with eBooks and they are no longer worth creating. I would beg to differ with these people and I will give you a few reasons why eBooks should be created to act as a lead generation tool and increase traffic to your website.

Why should you create an eBook?

Firstly, if you give that eBook away people will visit your website.

But number two, if they come to your website, they are looking for information. If you have an eBook there that covers the information that they're looking for, number one, you're already set up in their mind.

I'll give you an example. I was asked to be the best man in my friend's wedding about a year ago. I was really excited but knew nothing about what I was supposed to do.

One of the things that I was doing online was scouring the Internet of things that I should be doing as a best man, because I had no clue. I was going to all kinds of websites trying to piece all this information together, when I know for a fact that had there been an eBook that basically created a step by step process of what I needed to do in order to be a best man, I would have bought it.

How do I know that? Because I have bought eBooks in a similar nature, for various other topics, outlining step by step what I needed to do.

There were two reasons I bought those books. Number one, I was in need of the information they held. Number two, I didn't have to go searching and piece information together, this website had all the information packaged together.

There is more than one reason to be creating an eBook. Another one is within your eBook you can advertise your products and services.

I want you to think of a funnel, and the eBook is used as a product at the top of that funnel. We call that the marketing funnel. The further down the funnel you go, the higher priced products that you have.

Your eBooks are going to work as tools that will demonstrate to your costumers the value you can provide and build up trust with them so they are more willing to buy your products that are of higher price.

When people know, like and trust someone they are more likely to buy products from them, especially when they provide valuable information. An eBook is your way to show how much value you can provide.

By doing that, by creating an introductory product, you then want to introduce your other higher-priced products and services that those people could purchase from you if they want to take that next step.

It becomes a platform to advertise your other products and services within the eBook.

To be clear, you don't want your eBook to be one big sales pitch though. You really have to balance mentioning your products and providing valuable information because this is what people will judge on what they can get from you in your other products.

Writing these articles, I am doing it right now to you. Of course, I would love it if you all bought my other products and services, came to my seminar, wanted to work closer with me. In order to get to that point I know I have to gain your trust and show you that I can provide valuable information.

Providing articles is one way I like to do that. Within each one I try to cram as much information as I can so that you just can't wait to read my next article or go purchase some of my products.

I want you to take the same philosophy and apply it to your eBooks. You've got to pack as much information into that eBook as possible, without it being one big sales pitch. If people see it as being a big sales pitch, they're going to be turned off and they're less likely to do business with you.

Using an eBook as a platform for your other products and services as well as driving traffic and making leads are all great reasons why you should be creating eBooks.

By exploring your creativity ideas will come to you when you need them the most!
