A vacation would be one of the best stress relievers. But, not one that you are forced to go on or take. Rather, one that you would find relaxing and interesting enough to get your mind off the same old-same old. Not everybody can do what they want or go where they want. So, let me give you some tips on hos to find stress relief.
Don't try to eliminate all your stress at once, you didn't acquire it all at once. Make gradual changes over time. Your habits will start to change and you will see stress relief throught the new strategies you pick up.
Stress can be relieved in a number of different ways.
Puzzles can challenge your skills and provide an effective relief of stress by forcing your mind to focus on things other than what are causing stress. Puzzles come in many new formats to challenge your skills.
Gardening is an excellent source of stress relief. Or getting out in the woods for a walk or cutting and stacking firewood can be a healthy means of releasing pent up nervous energy and stress.
Most of the time we are too busy to notice the beauty of nature around us. We're so focused on the negative stress that we totally ignore or don't let in what is a natural stress releiver. Go for a drive in the country, to the lake or ocean, to the mountains and spend some time observing.
How hard would it be for you to add one simple pleasure to your daily routine?
Try a hobby. It does not have to be expensive. it can be as simple as replanting a 99 cent cacti into a nicer pot and watching it shoot up. They grow fast and are easy to grow. But, you should find something that can take your mind off the stress and find some relief.
Natural supplemens are available to assist as well. Natural cures can be great alternatives to prescription drugs. They are frequently as good or better but you won't hear that from the big drug companies, they want your money!
Music has excellent stress relief properties and it's great for keeping your kids in a peaceful mood. You can sing and dance together or you can play it lightly while they do homework, draw or just play. Music can assist us in this; we can listen to peaceful strains or comforting melodies.
Try picking up an instrument on ebay. Get something easy that you can play around with and have some relaxing fun. I ended up getting a bunch of odd and unusual noise makers for fun but also a nice Native American flute that even I can make sound good.
Try reading and meditating on some Psalms out of the Bible. The Bible says we can make melody in our hearts and laughter is the best medicine. Try speaking peaceful words of encouragement to yourself. Yes, really, speak blessing over yourself.
Exercise can heal your mind as it shapes your body. One good method for stress relief is breathing deeply and exercise can get you doing just that. Go ahead and release all the tension and frustration and feel better when you are done.
When you exercise, you can get a boost of confidence knowing you're the best you can be.
Give yourself a break with some laughter. Really, laughter is the best medicine. it will get you to stop focusing on what ails you and allow you to release tension and anxiety.
Try shooting. Photography, that is! You'll be amazed at the shots you can catch and if you invest in some software to crop and fix the photos, you'll become the family pro. The nice thing about digital cameras is you only have to print what you want. Very relaxing and a boost of self confidence.
Take time for yourself. Whichever mehtod of stress relief you choose, remember to take or make the time for you to actually do it and reap the benefits.
