Before you take on the responsibility of a Rottweiler dog you should become as familiar as you can with potential health problems. You should know before you get one that a Rottweiler sheds a lot and they do not have the long fluffy hair that you can just lint brush out of your clothing either. Rottweilers have very short hairs that can get lodged into clothing and not want to come out for any reason. So if you do not want to deal with short dog hairs everywhere then you may not want a Rottweiler.

Like any other living creature a Rottweiler will develop some health problems if it is not fed the proper diet. As your dog's owner it is your responsibility to make sure that your dog is getting all the nutrients it needs and none of the stuff it does not need.

One good indicator that your dog is getting a bad diet is that your Rottweiler can develop a bad case of gas from a poor diet. Flatulence is a result of poor diet and for your own sake you probably want to avoid that.

Another potential byproduct of bad nutrition is bone disease that can cause a deterioration of the joints. This condition can also be hereditary or even come about over time through natural causes but you can certainly reduce your dog's chance of bone disease with a proper diet. However if you notice your dog having difficulty getting around get them to the vet immediately.

It can be a little confusing dealing with some Rottweiler health problems if you do not take the time to work with your vet and discuss these issues with them. While a good diet is extremely important to a Rottweiler so is the right amount of exercise. The problem is deciding how much exercise is the right amount for your dog.

Your Rottweiler can be afflicted with many different types of conditions and diseases that sometimes other breeds are not as affected by.

There are always health issues and warning signs to watch out for when you own any pet and that is especially true with a Rottweiler. A Rottweiler is more susceptible to cancer than many other breeds and it is health issues like this that you have to keep on the look out for so that you can make sure your dog is always happy and healthy for life.
