The Bulldog can easily be considered as one of the most favored breeds of dog, and for good reason. They are a very unique looking dog and definitely stand out from the crowd, but they are also very easy to take care of. Unlike other breeds whose coat may pose a problem and require the owner to spend a lot of time on grooming, the Bulldog has a very short straight coat that requires very little care.

This also means that there is very little shedding throughout the year. The coat of the Bulldog comes in red brindle, solid white, solid red, fawn and various colors of brindle as well, so there is definitely a lot of variety here. In terms of size the Bulldog is moderate and built very low to the ground. They are very strong dogs and are not aggressive or violent. They are also very easy to train and make a great family pet and companion.

The appearance of the Bulldog is not the only favorable quality however, as their personality is respectable as well. They are loyal and incredibly affectionate, always sure to meet you at the door when you come home. They are even known to get along with other pets well, especially if they were raised with them. They thrive on human attention and love to get outdoors and be active but they are not overly hyper or excitable.

In terms of temperament they are dependable and gentle and even get along well with other pets, especially if they were raised alongside them. The Bulldog tends to have natural guarding abilities but training is still important.

Early socialization and obedience training is a must for the Bulldog because they have a tendency to be stubborn and dominant. It is imperative that you show them who is in charge and control of the household to ensure that they listen and respond to commands.

If you are interested in getting a Bulldog then you will want to find reputable Bulldog breeders or adopt a Bulldog from a Bulldog rescue center. The choice is up to you but of course if you are looking to get a purebred dog then your best bet is going to be to find a breeder.

Find a breeder that focuses solely on Bulldogs because they will be the most knowledgeable and educated on the breed, and you also want to make sure that they have all the right credentials and paperwork.

Remember that any good breeder is going to be more than willing and able to provide you with the information you are looking for, so never feel as though you are overstepping your bounds or crossing the line.
