You probably one of the campers that that enjoy to lie down on a camping air mattress, when sleeping out on a camping trip, knowing that you will not wake up with the imprint of a rock or stick in your back the next morning.

Regardless you choose an individual mattress, single, double sized mattress, you should match the size of the mattress with the size of the tent and the number of people who will be on the same mattress.

Some of the single mattresses are designed as a one-chamber bladder to simply elevate the camper from the ground. Getting one small hole in this type of mattress will result mattress deflated so the mattress can not be used anymore.

The best type of camping air mattresses is the one that has multiple chambers that allow the mattress to remain essentially inflated is. Using this mattress, you can still use the mattress even if there is a hole in one of the chambers.

In camping preparation, you should bring tool to inflate the camping air mattress. Some campgrounds have air compressors for just that reason, but many do not. Even there is an air compressor, lugging a large air mattress to the dedicated compressor and bring it back to the camping location is also a problem. You should consider bringing a foot pump, since it makes inflating a camping air mattress easier and will not require someone to manually inflate one by blowing into it for hours.

Most vehicles have tire inflators that plug into the 12-volt power plug in. These pumps can be connected to a camping air mattress and inflated in minutes. Larger mattresses use 120-volt pumps, which you can also find at stores. If the campsite being used is equipped with electricity, they can make short work of inflating the camping air mattress.

You also need to ensure that you have already checked out the area for sharp objects that can puncture the outside allowing air to escape throughout the night, before placing the mattress on the ground. You should avoid a place with many rocks around it to place your air mattress. Even if you sleeping on a camping air mattress, if it is set on a large rock it can still make for an uncomfortable night. Also avoid placing an air mattress on plastic as it can slide as though it were sitting on ice.

Many types of camping mattresses are available nowadays. Most of camping air mattress that is coated on one side with flannel or other cloth is more comfortable than the one made from the plastic or rubber mattress. You also have to remember to bring a sleeping bag or some blankets to lay on top of the mattress to prevent muscle pain from sleeping directly on the cold mattress.
