When it comes to choosing the right kind of portable games console you can play your favorite video games on there are a number of different ones you can choose from. However in this article we are specifically be going to take look at the Sony Play Station Portable (PSP) which of all the consoles now available seems to be one of the most popular.

One of the biggest problems that many people face when playing any kind of portable games console is how long the battery will last before it either needs replacing or recharging. However the PSP even though it comes with one of the most powerful operating systems to be found in a portable games console Sony have designed their batteries to live that little bit longer. The great thing about this particular console is that you can still play all your games even whilst the batteries are recharging.

A major benefit to be gained from owning a PSP compared to say the Nintendo DS is that even if the batteries become completely drained once placed on charge the user can start playing games again. Also on average it takes around 2 hours for the batteries in the Sony PSP to be fully charged once more and allows you to play it wherever you want.

Another great feature of the PSP is that it allows you MP3 music on it. Although it comes with a good set of headphones when listening to music on your PSP you may prefer to get a good set of audio ones to use with it instead. A lot people who already have PSP's now not only use theirs to play all their favorite video games on but listen to their favorite music tracks as well.

The Sony PSP just like the Nintendo DS comes with a wireless feature and this means that you can play against others without being sat right next to each other and the PSP's connected to one and other with a whole lot of wires. In fact this particular feature allows players to sit as much as a 100 feet away from each and still enjoy the game they are playing against each other. The other great benefit to be gained from this particular feature on the PSP is that it allows as many as 8 people to play the exact same game at the same time.

One of the biggest problems to be faced by many gamers who use portable consoles is that amount of time it takes for theirs to either boot up or upload the game that they want to play. However this is where the Sony PSP differs from other games consoles including the Nintendo DS is that it comes with a "sleep mode" facility. As soon as you hit the button which turns on this feature the PSP will stop and will only recommence booting up or uploading the game from the point when it was stopped when the button has been pressed again.

Probably one of the best benefits to be had from owning a Sony PSP over some of the other types of portable games consoles now available is that it allows you to play MP4 formatted movies on it. But be warned that in order to do so you will need to have the right kind of software which will allow you to convert any movie you want into the right format in order for you to watch it on your PSP. Luckily there are websites around today which offer you the chance to download such software for free, but be carefully when doing so as some may actually download other files that could corrupt your PC and then your PSP.

As you can see where the PSP is concerned compared to many other types of video games console there are major advantages to be had from owning one. Plus as with any kind of product made by Sony you are assured that you will be provided with superb customer support and technical support at all times.
