An online relationship should be viewed like any other relationship. However, online relationships are gaining popularity mostly because people have the advantage of knowing each other first before the actual date. Also, they are considered safer and more practical for people who don't have much time to invest in real world dating. But before going online and investing time in a virtual relationship you should learn some tricks.

1. To keep your relationship on the right track you need to invest some time in it. Make sure that you don't neglect your virtual partner and treat him or her with the respect they deserve. If you feel that the other partner doesn't respect you or they are neglecting you it's probably time to move on.

2. Communication needs to "feel" right for both of you. If one of you is too pushy about meeting, for instance, that can give off bad vibes. So don't rush. Take time to learn more about each other and develop trust.

3. Respect each others privacy. Don't share personal email addresses or digital photos online, for example, if your online date sent you the information in confidence.

4. Make sure that you have fun online; you can send postcards, photos, or media files to your virtual partner. You can both see clips on the internet or listen to the same music. You can talk on the same forums, share ideas about the same interests. There are many things to do with your virtual partner, just use your imagination.

These are only some of the things you can make with your online partner; other things may include whatever you would do with a real life partner, of course with the restrictions that come on internet.

Tend to your online relationship, just as you would with any other relationship. Water it with care and over time it can sprout and grow.

Sharing your ideas online and meeting people online will help you develop spiritually, will help you gain knowledge about different things, and, of course, might help you find your soulmate.
