In olden times, eloping has never crossed lovers' minds. If this takes place though, it may be the last option a couple has. One reason for this may be due to family opposition against one's partner. It may also be due to emotional rush. Whatever the reason behind this action, it is still considered taboo before and even in the present time. However, right now there are more and more couples opting to elope rather than having a traditional wedding.

In the present day, more and more couples are opting to elope. Here are the reasons they cited why they are in favor of it:

* Practical money-wise - We all know that getting married entails a lot of preparation. Wedding is expensive, no doubt. They still get to invite a few guests, treat them to a simple meal, and vacation with them. The newlyweds also get to honeymoon in the same place they exchanged their vows.

* For those who prefer a private affair - We must remember that not all couples are hoping for a grand union. There are couples already satisfied even with a few guests around and little decorations. A few simple reminders of their union are what they prefer. Couples who have been involved and married with someone else prior to the present partner are most likely to opt for a quiet union.

* Stress-free union - As mentioned earlier, planning a wedding requires a lot of time, energy, and resources. Locations, decorations, guests, music, food, and attire are but some of the couple's worries when getting married. There are wedding planners now who help couples organize their wedding but then this set-up may still require a lot of decision-making from couples.

When couples elope they get to escape the prying eyes of people who may be out to criticize the union. Eloping, therefore, is a convenient way to let couples be themselves in the most important day of their lives.

* It is for the hopelessly romantic - Couples eloping are fixtures in books and movies. This is probably where most couples get the idea. Eloping is something out of the ordinary so couples relish the idea of doing it.

Remember that eloping does not really leave out the guests. Couples who elope can still invite few chosen guests they would like to share their precious moment with. As mentioned earlier, there are now wedding packages available to couples on a tight budget.

Eloping is a great way to put in action the simple union couples have been dreaming of. The best thing about it is they get to share their special day with only the closest family and friends.
