Are Businesses Affected by Identity Theft?

Identity theft is becoming a more and more serious offence by the day. As the number of identity thefts is increasing and their implications are becoming more and more serious, identity theft is becoming of greater citizens not only to cops but also to the government and even to the people.

Let us assume a person name Dick James makes fake documents calling himself Terry Johns. Now he can make all sorts of documents he wishes to. He takes loans worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, he gets several credit cards and makes several purchases on credit, takes money through ATM and the like.

In this case, James may have already had hundreds of thousands, millions or even more from different financial businesses and the likes, who will be taking the responsibility for paying all these transactions? Surely, there will be no choice but for the bank shouldering the repayments of his loans and credits.

After this, Jonard Weelord leaves the place where he has so much credit to pay. But no one knows because he gave a different or a fake name to sign every document needed, even the personal document was fake. Maybe the bank did have a photograph, but changing your looks and appearance is very easy. Shaving your hair is one way or maybe putting on wig. They don't even know where the hell he is.

Jonard Weelord could just go to a cheaper place and his life is changed. He is filthy rich for what he did. But the companies and banks that he took fake loans are the one who lost a lot of money.

Banks may handle suffering losses occasionally; however, if this kinds of cases comes ever too often for these businesses? Surely, these banks will come to an end wherein they will not be able to tolerate this kind of situation anymore.

Besides losing so much money, their great reputation that they worked for a very long time is swept. Trust and confidence of their customers are also gone. So the business is not the only thing that was lost, not just money but also respect.

Identity theft does a very large damage to the business and causes a lot of problems which takes time for them to get over.
