Cars running on diesel are able to go farther on one tank of diesel fuel compared to one tank of gasoline. In the United States, though, diesel powered cars are not as common since a big chunk of the diesel supply in the US contains a sulfur and pollutants. Lately, though, the US government has issued stricter rules and regulations that require diesel fuel to meet strict emission standards. If these rules are successful in their implementation in the United States, then there's sure to be a drastic increase in the diesel powered cars available in the United States.
