When you think about it, your little miracle took nine months to perfection. It was your unconditional love for your unborn baby that made you adapt to a healthy lifestyle in order to have a healthy baby. You, too, are worth the sacrifice, effort and patience to lose the pregnancy weight permanently.
Let's be candid here. Opting for the over hyped diet pill or fad diet is the wrong way to go about losing the baby fat because the average Mom is lacking in the essentials to do it the right way. These essentials vary from person to person. Whether it's not enough time, motivation, mental toughness, self-confidence and so on, the list is not important. What matters is that permanent weight loss starts and ends with you.
Love Yourself
To truly love yourself is easier said than done especially when you are a busy Mom. Most of your energy and love gets poured into your loved ones. But if your goal is to lose pregnancy weight fast, then you have to start loving yourself.
Loving yourself will empower you to be your own guide and coach to keep you on course, to give you sound advice, to push you on when you want to give up, to make you carry on despite set backs. You need you because only you can do it. By loving yourself from within you will lose the pregnancy weight for good.
Face your Fears
If your self-confidence is low and your post pregnancy weight is high, it high time you get back into shape. Going about it the healthy way will require, as they say, "no pain, no gain". As a Mother you have faced and overcame many challenges running a household. But this one is personal. You have to courageously fight the temptation to procrastinate, give up or cheat with a quick-fix diet pill to trim your tummy. If you can readily cope with the responsibilities of being a Mom for your family, then why not cope with getting fit and healthy for you?
Honest is the Best Policy
How often do we lie or rationalize to ourselves as we indulge in our poor diets, unhealthy lifestyles and bad eating habits to silence or subdue our guilt. The honest truth is that losing the baby fat will take more than just lip service. It will need us to stop the excuses, lies and rationalizations that keep us trapped in our present state of declining health. Honesty will force you to realize that your health should not be put on hold. It will make you more proactive with regards to changing to a healthier lifestyle by eating right and exercising daily. It will encourage you to take care of your wellness.
Getting to Know You
What better way to win the battle against the "bulge" than to "know thyself"? After all, we are our own best friend and worst foe. So why not learn to use your good character attributes to help you reach your goal. The same can be applied to your character flaws or bad habits that can often get you "talking the talk and not walking the walk". When you know your good, bad and ugly sides, you can learn behavioral techniques to stay on course to lose your tummy.
Life is to be lived and not spent worrying or obsessing about weight. It's your body, time, energy and efforts. So why not do yourself a favor and do it right. Choosing to live a healthy lifestyle will keep the weight down and your quality of life up.
